Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Faculty - Part-time - Blackwood, NJ (Faculty)  

Posting Summary:

The Rutgers School of Nursing is seeking part time faculty qualified to teach clinical and didactic courses in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing for our Entry to Baccalaureate 2+2 nursing program. In this role, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical practice competence, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participate in School of Nursing faculty governance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level and may include didactic as well as clinical practicum courses in psych/mental health settings (i.e. outpatient and inpatient)
  • Willingness to teach other areas of nursing, (i.e. foundations, health assessment, leadership) when needed
  • Willingness to teach in simulation activities when needed
  • Administrative duties may include program recruitment, student advisement and mentorship, and periodic curricular review and updates.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD/DNP/EdD) required
  • Master’s degree in nursing
    • Current clinical experience in Psych/Mental Health Nursing
  • Experience teaching baccalaureate nursing students in didactic and clinical settings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National certification in specialty
  • Experience in academic leadership

Preference will be provided to candidates who demonstrate scholarship (e.g., publications, national presentations) and active participation in community and/or professional organizations 


  • Current Licensure or eligibility for RN Licensure in New Jersey
